Mr. Ahmed M. Saeed, Vice-President for East Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) attended the 26th Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) Ministerial Meeting held on 26 November 2020 via Zoom where he discussed ADB’s cooperation in the and priority areas moving forward in the post pandemic revitalization period, including recent ADB initiatives. He emphasized green recovery and development, leveraging green and blue financing, promoting technology solutions, tourism recovery, and capacity building. ADB studies to enhance IMT-GT’s economic corridors and strengthen Special Economic Zone cooperation to boost trade and investment and rebuild economies amid COVID-19 were also discussed.
The meeting was chaired by H.E. Mr. Agus Suparmanto, Minister of Trade of Indonesia and also attended by H.E. Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) of Malaysia, H.E. Mr. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, Minister of Finance of Thailand, H.E. Dr. Aladdin D. Rillo, Deputy Secretary-General for ASEAN Economic Community of the ASEAN Secretariat, Mr. Firdaus Dahlan, Director of the Centre for IMT-GT Subregional Cooperation, representatives of relevant ministries, local governments, academe, private sector, and development partners.
