Economic Corridor Development
The training is designed to provide opportunities for understanding issues and challenges in economic corridor development in Asia. The training has two independent but interrelated modules. Module 1 will focus on understanding characteristics, concepts, models and drivers of economic corridors.Case studies on economic corridor development in Central Asia, Southeast Asia and South Asia will be highlighted. The learning process will provide opportunities to share experiences and discuss lessons learned using adult learning methodology. Module 2 will focus on economic corridor drivers: (i) transport and trade facilitation; (ii) special border economic zones; and (iii) sustainable, livable and competitive cities. The learning process will provide opportunities to share experiences, and acquire first-hand and direct exposure to transboundary situations in select sections (subsections) of the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) economic corridors.
